Raw Chocolate Recipe

lovehearts

Valentines Day would not be complete without chocolate!  But, we’re not referring to your average ‘Galaxy’ bar … we’re talking about raw chocolate for optimum health.

Did you know that in its raw state, chocolate has more than 300 nutritional compounds and is one of the richest sources of antioxidants of any food on the planet! Cacao is literally a Superfood.

Its health benefits include lowering blood pressure, improving circulation and cardiovascular health, and even suppressing appetite (so great for weight loss!) It also contains ‘bliss’ chemicals which create a sense of both physical and mental well being by boosting energy and enhancing your mood.

Chocolate has long been the food for lovers and is a symbol of sensuality and sexuality. The ancient Aztecs gave chocolate as wedding gifts and believed that chocolate was the food of the heart. Raw chocolate has to be the best aphrodisiac around!

Here’s my Valentine’s gift to you:

Raw chocolate                                           RAW ‘LOVE’ CHOCOLATE

                                                        100g raw cacao butter

6 Tablespoons raw cacao powder

2 or 3 teaspoons Agave Syrup

1 pinch of rock or sea salt

1 teaspoon natural vanilla essence

1 good pinch of cayenne powder

Melt the cacao butter gently on a low heat (in a bowl above a pan of water).  Add the other ingredients and whisk well until blended and a creamy consistency. Remove from heat and pour into moulds or ice cube trays and chill in your fridge until set.

Voila! Amazing Raw Chocolate and much better for you than processed bars.  Enjoy!
