With the nights drawing in, and getting much cooler, my thoughts turn towards the winter months ahead. With that come thoughts on the possibility of catching any colds and coughs that might be going around. The last thing I ever want to do is get sick!
I remember a years ago, when my daughter was much younger, discovering a fabulous recipe for a Herbal Vinegar that not only tastes great, but it supports and boosts your immune, digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems and helps to lift one’s mood, all at the same time – and really works at warding off any winter illnesses, and will help you get over any illness should you already be suffering. My daughter and I always make this ‘Hooch’ at this time of year and take it through the winter to keep us well.
It contains 6 key ingredients:
Garlic
Ginger
Chillis
Onion
Horseradish root
Apple Cider Vinegar
A few years ago, I was chatting to a kinesiology friend of mine, Miranda Welton of www.progessive-kinesiology.co.uk who had bought a bottle of my Winter Elixir. She teaches her specialist subject and introduced this remedy to her students in class one day. They all decided to test its efficacy. So they all had their blood taken beforehand, and then took a teaspoonful each. They then had their blood checked again to see any reactions. The results were amazing! Almost instantly, the blood cells were multiplying and visibly racing around on the glass specimen slide under the microscope, compared to how it looked before they took the Elixir! It got me excited when she told me, as I know it works from personal experience, but had never had it tested scientifically.
It never ceases to amazes me though, that how simple kitchen ingredients and food can be so powerful in healing the body in a natural way.
If you are at all worried about the ‘heat’ that some of the herbs have, you needn’t, as their flavour is softened during the process of making the remedy, without losing any of the potency.
The ‘proof is in the pudding’ as they say, so I suggest you try it and see for yourself?
A 110ml bottle is only £7.50 (+P&P) and we have lovely fresh batch ready to tickle your taste buds. I guarantee even the kids will love it!
In my next blog posts I will go into each of the ingredients in more detail.
Wishing you warm, autumnal blessings
Melanie
